E3 is back in a big way, and this year was the battle of the motion controllers and 3D tech. While Nintendo® was the first to prove that motion technology was viable to gaming with the release of the Wii™, Microsoft® and Sony® are attempting to raise the bar with their own versions of motion control...but have they succeeded?

The answer is yes and no. We'll break down both technologies and point out advantages and disadvantages versus the Wiimote™.
Related posts:

And while Nintendo brought the idea to the forefront first in most gamers' minds, the fact is that Sony did it first on a much smaller scale with the original EyeToy. And while Nintendo tried to market their Wiimote add-on Motion Plus at E3 as the next step forward in waggle gaming, Microsoft and Sony smashed their hopes with ambitious plans of their own.

So now the question that will be debated long into the foreseeable future is which of the two technologies reigns supreme. We'll try to answer that question as best it can be with what little we've seen of both so far.

Related posts:

The excitement as usual is unbearable, what-oh-what will be revealed this year. We find it interesting that so little is known about any big announcements expected this year from anyone. Does this mean that there will be surprises of a major scale from all parties? A new Mario from Nintendo perhaps?

Let's revisit a rumor that we have been following closely for quite some time now that just doesn't go away...motion controlled gameplay on true next-gen consoles! The month of May has been blowing up with new information that leads us to believe (yet again) that it will finally be revealed this year.
