Originally released in 1992, Spheres of Chaos featured Asteroids-like game play, arcade-style sounds and its trademark colorful. It was originally released for the the RISC Operating System, but since then, ports have been been made available for Windows and Linux.
Author of the game, Iain McLeod, has just recently announced that the a new game, titled Spheres of Chaos 2008, will be released soon and it will be freeware. The new version will feature updated 3D graphics and, although the author hasn’t stated it directly, screenshots hint at updated game play and several new game features.
