Metroid™ Prime Loses a ‘D’

With the new E3 just behind us and Metroid™ Prime 3: Corruption about to come home to the Wii™, we got to thinking about how much the game has changed over the years. The latest games were different than all the other Metroid™ games because when Metroid went Prime, it also went 3D. But have you ever wondered what would it have been like as a 2D sidescroller?

Well a small group of indie developers are determined to find out. The project is called Metroid™ Prime 2D, and it hopes to become a full-fledged Metroid™ Prime remake with 2D sprites. A playable demo is available for download now, and plenty of screenshots to browse through. Let’s just hope they stay around long enough to finish it.
